Back to the daily grind.

No knitting content to post as all I have accomplished on that front was weaving in a few more ends on the Nina Shawl.

Gabe came down Monday night after work and after a quick talk, we went out for dinner with my brother Dave and with Lauren. It was a little uncomfortable, but in the end, I'm glad he came down.

I'll spare you all the details of our "chat" but basically he understands that I don't trust him and why and that if a friendship is going to work, it's not going to happen overnight, nor is it going to be easy. At times it will be awkward, and Monday night proved that as after dinner while watching Kingdom Hospital, we found ourselves falling into the same old pattern, the same old rhythm. It was surprisingly easy for me to put a stop to it and by early afternoon Tuesday, things felt a lot more comfortable and a lot more friendship like.

Tuesday we spent the day at the mall shopping and then at the movies. We saw Superman Returns. All in all, I enjoyed the flick. I thought the plot was a little thin in parts and there were a few parts that just seemed to contradict themselves but I enjoyed it and was really engrossed in certain parts. It was a good fluff film. I think Parker Posey outshined Kate Bosworth in a big way and was surprised to like Brandon Routh as Superman.

After dinner, Gabe and I grabbed a quick dinner and then I sent him on his way. As much as I enjoyed his company, I found myself longing for some quality me time.

I'm not really sure when I'm going to get any serious knitting time. This week is busy, this weekend is hectic with it being the last weekend before my brother Dave leaves for Bootcamp, and I have to work late as much as possible.

With the end of the quarter being June 30th, we usually have the entire month of July to get the quarterly payroll reports finished up. However, this month my dad is going into the hospital on the 14th so everything needs to be finished up by then.

I'll post more on that later. Right now, I have a few piles of work screaming my name. I'd like to get out of here on time tonight as it's our stitch n' bitch night. Lauren and I will be heading up to Robby's for dinner, knitting and our latest tv addiction, So You Think You Can Dance.
