Still alive and well.
Time's flying by rather quickly isn't it? It seems like this whole year has just been one big blur. I'm still alive, still rather well healthwise, and still spending the majority of my time studying. Between work, studying and all these doctor appointments I've been going to, my knitting time has been cut down to once a week if that. [The doctor appointments thus far are nothing serious, just some oral surgery I need to have. No need to worry there, it's just time consuming.]
I haven't had a chance to reply to the comments left over the last few posts, and I promise that soon I will, I'm hoping that I'll have some spare time this weekend. But in the mean time, please accept my generic thank you to everyone who replied. You guys left me some serious encouragement and I appreciate it a great deal.
The studying is coming along nicely. I am currently relearning algebra and geometry. Easy stuff, as once I glance over it, it all comes back to me. It's actually pretty exciting. Learning is kind of fun! Next I have Science, which I'm worried about as it was never my strong suit and then Social Studies, which shouldn't be so bad. I've been looking at this as a one time thing, I have to accomplish getting my GED on the first try and while that's a great goal, I've decided not to be so hard on myself. If I try my best and don't pass, I just take it again in a few weeks. No big deal. at least I'm finally working towards it!
I saw this on Sweetgeorgia's blog, and while it's too late for the contest, I thought it was a good little meme and thought since I don't have any knitting content, I'd distract you with it.

- How was 2006 for you?
2006 was actually a pretty good year for me. Although, it wouldn't have taken much to make this year better than 2005, which was filled with emotional turmoil for me. Naturally, 2006 had it's ups and downs, but I'm blessed with great friends who were there for me when I needed them. Knittingwise, this is after all a knitting blog, 2006 was a very productive year for me. I ventured into Lace knitting and Fair Isle, two things that I never thought I'd be able to accomplish.
- What was the highlight of your year?
The highlight of my year hasn't come yet. This year for Christmas, all of my friends will be here in Jersey together, something that didn't happen last year. My best girl friend Kristen will be home from school in Hawaii, my brother Dave is currently home on a 30 day leave from where the Marine Corp has him stationed in California, and closer to Christmas, my dear friend Travis will also be home on leave from Kansas where the Army has him stationed. We haven't all been together for Christmas in at least two years now, so it's a pretty big deal to me.
- What did you want to accomplish that you didn’t get to?
Getting my GED, although hopefully by the new year, that will be accomplished. Knittingwise, I have yet to sucessfully knit a sweater. I'll have to get cracking on that!
- What are you planning for 2007?
I plan on going to college. I'll be majoring in accounting, and minoring in something, I'm just not sure what yet. On the knitting front, I want to knit a pair of Fair Isle mittens and a seriously complicated lace shawl.
