And in other news, I suck at grafting. Pics to come soon.

In sticking with this blogging theme....

99% of the blogs I read on a regular basis are knitting blogs. Once in a while though, I find one outside of this genre that I add to my blogroll.

The latest addition is Alpineberry, a baking blog whose pictures make me want to bake everything. This past weekend I spent baking Old Fashioned Peanut Butter Cookies and Butter Cookies with Jam. Both of which were excellent.

In knitting related news, I joined the Hogwarts Sock Kit Swap.

And I've been sorted into Slytherin! I'm so excited. This is going to be so much fun!

Belated Blogiversary!

Unfortunately, I have no knitting pictures to share with you. I have been knitting exclusively on the never ending log cabin afghan in hopes that I will finish it in time to give to Joe for his birthday in June. Miles and miles of garter stitch doesn't make good knitting content.

I've also been cross stitching, but again, can't share pictures of that either, as the two I am currently working on are gifts, and I know that at least one of the recipients reads this blog.

But I do have pictures I can share. I recieved my first secret pal package!

Look how pretty it was all wrapped up, and everything had it's own little note. Too cute!

And inside:

Some yummy Trader Joe's chocolate, two hanks of Soft Twist, a sock pattern I can't wait to try out, and a sock yarn I've never had the pleasure of knitting! Thank you so much secret pal. :)

Tax season had me so distracted that I completely missed my one year blogiversary. I am by no means the world's best blogger. I often go longer than I mean to in between posts, but I really enjoy not only blogging about my knitting adventures, but also reading all of your knitting adventures.

If it weren't for the knitblog community, I don't think I would have accomplished so much, or learned so much since I've started knitting. It was through reading knitting blogs that I discovered there was more to yarn than Red Heart or Homespun. It was through reading knitting blogs that I learned the techniques I thought were scary. I'm happy to be a part of this community.

As a thank you for reading my blog, whether this is the first post you've read, or you've been here since the beginning, I'm going to hold a contest. The winner will receive their choice of solid or variegated sock yarn, and a few other goodies, including a little something I plan on making myself.

All you have to do to be entered is leave a comment about knitting blogs. It could be anything. It could be a link to your favorite knitting blog, it could be a funny story about blogging, a story about a friend you made through the knitblog community, a link to a picture you like on a knitting blog or a tutorial you've used on a knitting blog. Anything! Use your imagination.

The contest will close on Friday, April 27th at 10:00 AM, EST. The lucky winner will then be drawn using a random number generator.

I'm still alive and well. Things have been hectic since my last post. I've been sick, and work has been crazy. But there is good news!

Tomorrow is the last day of Tax Season!

And Blue Moon posted new colorways! 13 in total that I count.

I'll be back soon with a proper blog post!
